Hello World

Well, HELLO!

I had someone ask me the other day why I haven't been blogging?

The real reason, life.

The other reason, I sort of forgot about it.

The last few weeks I have been off from school for Christmas break. It has been glorious. We got out on the 19th. The kids come back the 12th. It was a LONG break, but much needed and I think we will all be so much more refreshed.

We have played, worked puzzles, cleaned, played, jumped, opened presents, baked, cooked, cooked play food....it has been fun and refreshing.

In the past few months, a lot has happened.

Many of you know, we left our church (the one I had been in my whole life) almost three years ago. We visited around. We consistently went to church, we just didn't plant. It was a frustrating time. In that time, God finally sold our house and we moved. It was crazy what doors were opened in that time and we got an amazing house at an amazing price that wasn't even officially on the market. So we were in a new county, new city, small town. It was sort of cliche' but one Sunday, we went to the First Baptist Church. I always wanted to go to a First Baptist. We left that day and I told David, it feels like this is where we are supposed to be. It just felt right. The whole time I felt like God was telling me, "you are home." We went through the new members class and joined the last week in November.

The past two weeks, we have been getting to know an awesome group of college kids. College is such a transitional time in lives and a time that is so often left for 18-28 year olds to travel alone. It is a vulnerable time. It is a valuable time. We had two amazing people pour into our lives during those years and it is relationships and time I wouldn't trade for the world. We are hoping that we can build meaningful relationships with all of these guys. We have been in it two weeks and I feel like we've known them forever. Our kids love playing with them. It is fun hearing their stories.

Ashley and Nick, our friends, had their first baby and I got to take pictures of her. It is a girl. We don't know what to do with girls. Girls are frilly, so it was fun playing "dress up" with her. When our people dress up, they hit you with swords and scream weird terms at you. It was a nice change of pace and she is adorable.

I have appreciated time with family like never before. I guess it is my old age, but the realization of no one is getting younger has started setting in. Watching everyone interact with the boys is priceless to me. They are loved by so many. That tiny tornado I speak of often, he LOVES Poppa and Nanny. He  is always wanting to call them.

The boys started playing basketball. That is interesting and the daddy is embarrassing at games.

They LOVE kindergarten. They are learning so much and it is so fun to hear their stories of their little friends. I love experiencing the world through their eyes sometimes.

I am still selling ItWorks and love it. It is so funny how fun it can be to post stuff on the internet and watch what happens.  Plus, I like talking to people so it is a win win. It is a fun little side gig and even if I struck it rich I would still be working in the real world because that is what God has called me to in this season of my life. I love the kids I teach and the people I work with. Plus, I have been home three weeks and realized at one point I hadn't had a shower in two days, I have washed solely pajamas, jeggings, tshirts, and cardigans for three weeks. It just wouldn't be good for me. It is a temporary good because let's face it, my people can sleep. We just took a glorious three hour nap after waking up at 8:30. Now, tomorrow, this nonsense stops because Thursday is the real deal.

My class is still my favorite one ever. I have had some pretty awesome kids over the years but this group overall is amazing. They get a long well for the most part, they work hard most days, they love for me to read to them. They love me and bring me treasures all the time. They are kids and don't act half grown. I love it! I am ready to get back into routine.

Resolutions:
I don't really have any. I just hope to live life well, fully, and glorifying to God in 2016.

Happy 2016 to all and maybe, just maybe I will blog before 2017.
